Our network

As ranked by PCMag, Bell offers access to Canada's fastest ranked* and largest LTE network1. We cover over 32 million Canadians from coast to coast. We're also proud to say that unlike some other carriers, the Bell network never falls back to 2G. And we continuously invest to provide Canadians access to even faster speeds and the latest technology innovation.

One of the best networks in the world

Mobile network type comparison. 3G Launched 2005 up to 3 Mbps, 4G Launched 2009 up to 21 Mbps, 4G Launched 2010 up to 42 Mbps, LTE Launched 2011 up to 75 Mbps, LTE Launched 2012 up to 150 Mbps, LTE Advanced Launched 2015 up to 260 Mbps, LTE Advanced Launched August 2015 up to 335 Mbps

LTE Advanced, the world’s fastest mobile technology

In 2015, we launched LTE Advanced, the world’s fastest and most advanced wireless technology. Our latest network roll-out, in select communities, is the next generation of LTE Advanced, enabling speeds of up to 335 Mbps (expect average download speeds between 12–100 Mbps).

Bell customers were the first in North America to benefit from the very fastest LTE Advanced speeds available, enabling them to browse web pages and download large files faster, stream video more steadily and play graphic-intense multiplayer games. Bell also has the largest line-up of LTE Advanced devices.

A stronger LTE signal in more places across Canada.

We’ve added cell towers and made improvements in in-building coverage to give customers a better, stronger, more reliable signal in more places across Canada. Backed by the latest network infrastructure technology, Bell also gives you access to a network offering the most cell towers connected by fibre.

Building, maintaining and continually enhancing the entire Bell network takes hard work and dedication. 7500 employees strong, Bell only hires the most passionate and professional engineers to manage and support our network, all with the shared goal of providing Canadians with the absolute best, most advanced mobile experience and proving that mobility networks are not created equal. Last year alone, our network team drove over 1.4 million kilometres optimizing the network. That’s equivalent to driving from Halifax to Vancouver 300 times!
